Shomer360 Krav Maga
Self-Defense and Fitness for the Frum Community
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga (pronounced Krav Ma-gah) means contact-combat in Hebrew. Krav Maga is an eclectic self-defense system unbound by rules, founded by the Israeli military and gradually developed over the years to its current form.
It is a constantly evolving style and in constant state of improvement, making it the most effective reality based self defense system in existence today.
As Moshe Katz, head of the Israeli Krav International organization puts it:
Krav Maga for Yeshiva Talmidim
“The emphasis is not on teaching a Ben Torah how to hurt. The emphasis is on teaching a Ben Torah how to defend.”
-Captain Even-Esh
Within a framework of good middot and derech eretz, we teach a young, precious neshama the skills and mindset to not be a victim. This is targeted towards a self defense situation or bully scenario. From the very first lesson the parents will be amazed and in a few short months the student will amaze him/herself.

- The nation of Israel was born in a struggle. Our patriarch Jacob wrestled with an angel in the form of a man. When he emerged victorious the angel changed Jacob's name to Israel, meaning "One who has wrestled with G-d" and said, "You have wrestled with G-d and with man and have prevailed." Ever since then the nation of Israel had been fighting for survival.

- Learning these skills not only has the physical benefits associated with physical exercise, but also has a carryover into a student’s every day life. An empowered student will stand taller, walk prouder and exhibit a healthy sense of self confidence.
- For example, a yeshiva student of mine who was previously mugged, when confronted again, he simply looked the assailant in the eye and said, “I wouldn’t mess with me if I were you.” The would-be assailant walked away and my student avoided the confrontation without having to lift a hand.
